The name of Cos Labory comes from the place called "caux" which means hill of pebbles and from the owner of the years 1820-1840, Mr. François Labory. Bought in 1845 by Mr. Estournel, Château Cos Labory was sold in 1852 to an English banker, Mr. Charles Martyns. Grand Cru Classé in 1855, it has been owned by the Audoy family for more than half a century.
The eighteen hectare vineyard is located on the famous croup de Cos and enjoys a remarkable exposure. It is planted with traditional grape varieties.
Many investments have been made in recent years, so Château Cos Labory has the latest technologies for the development of its great wines.
Subject to the most attentive care, the vinification and aging of the wines are adapted each year according to the characteristics of the vintage. Cos Labory wines combine power and elegance, they have the typical structure of Saint-Estèphe.
