More info
The term Grand-Puy refers to its topography located at the top of a Puy, and the surname Lacost signs its link with the owner at the time of classification in 1855.
Its terroir in one piece extends over the rolling heights of Pauillac, enjoying exceptional relief and a microclimate favored by the proximity of the estuary.
The castle reigns among the vines. Listed in 1855, Grand-Puy-Lacoste occupied a very fine place in the history of great Bordeaux wines from the beginning of the 16th century. Several families succeeded one another at its head including the Lacoste and Raymond Dupin who ceded the property to the Borie family in 1978.
François-Xavier Borie, owner and manager, completely renovated the buildings, which once again made it possible to best express the quality and personality of this great terroir.
This Cru Classé produces wines with powerful but velvety tannins, considered the perfect type of classic Pauillac.
