Château Canon-la-Gaffelière is a Bordeaux wine from the Saint-Émilion appellation, it is Premier Grand Cru classified in the Classification of Saint-Émilion wines.
Located at the foot of the coast to the south of the medieval village of Saint-Emilion, the terroir of Château Canon La Gaffelière is made up of clay-limestone and clay-sandy soils, very filtering, particularly receptive to heat.
Due to the nature of the soils, the grape variety presents an atypical structure with regard to the appellation, characterized by a perfect balance between Merlot and Cabernet. On this terroir, where maturation takes place very early, the Cabernets thrive remarkably, bringing to the opulence of the Merlot a power and an aromatic complexity which form the basis of the natural elegance and finesse of the wines of Canon La Gaffelière.
Certified Organic Agriculture since the 2014 vintage, the terroir of Château Canon La Gaffelière delivers precise, structured and complex wines of great elegance.
